Anyway, I am a practicing Roman Catholic and I go to church to hear mass every Sunday. That is my one hour for God. However, there are some people who just can't sit still for one hour. Here's my list of top 5 annoying church goers.
1. The Chatters
I hate it when people chats during the mass. Come on! Can't you shut up for 1 hour and focus your attention to the liturgy? If you want to chat up to your seat mate, the door is wide open for you to leave. The thing with chatters kasi, they are also distracting me and the other people and are preventing us from fully absorbing the readings and the homily. Nakakainis! There are times when I am tempted to "shush" them and more often than not, I look at them and just shake my head.
2. The Texters
Texting while the mass is on going is just plain rude. Why can't you just wait until the mass is over before replying to whoever sent you a text message? Are you that of a VIP and you need to reply to each and every text message being sent to you? I am also turned off by those with noisy keypads. The type wherein you hear each 'click' that they do on their phones. Really distracting and bastos.
3. The Latecomers
I don't mind if you're late kasi I'm not the class beadle who takes note of the attendance of the parishoners. I hate it when you're late na nga, then you prefer to sit pa in front and then mega "Excuse me" ka dun sa dumating on time. If you're late, stand by the side na lang.
4. The Careless Parents
I say careless because these parents don't seem to care on their children. They don't discipline their children and in effect, they act out while in church. I believe it is the parent's responsibility to teach their children how to behave properly while hearing mass. Just the other week, there was a child who was howling during the consecration. I can't see if the parent is doing anything. But by the sound of his howling, they just chose to ignore his tantrums. Eh ang problema, kami naman nagsusuffer.
5. The Slob
The church is a place of worship. We have to keep it clean. I hate seeing people eating and leaving their junk on the pew as if it is their home and their maids are there to pick-up after them. Also, people who steps on the "luhuran". I can't help but wonder how they are at home.
Most of us only goes to church once a week. It is just an hour that we dedicate to God. Let's be considerate of our brothers and sisters who are also there to praise and listen to the word of God. Taasan ang EQ, at maging considerate sa ibang tao.
